My Christmas day...

It's an unearthly hour, i know, to be bloggin' about christmas. Something compelled my adrenaline filled fingers and so i thought it'll be nice to fill you in about my Christmas day. Woke up this morning by the sound of my dad's voice reminding us (family) to get ready early for church. Still in my unconscious state, i sat upright from my rest position and spent another 5 minutes in slumberland with my head facing downwards and eyelids glued shut. Conclusion - I slept late. I was surprised at how NOT narcissistic and VAIN i was this morning. Normally, i would spend 20 minutes infront of the mirrior while i go digging through my closet. Today was different. It's like i couldn't be bothered about looks at all. Must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.

Church went well nevertheless. Though there was a minor glitch with the powerpoint slides. I did what i can to help. I know many people were all upset and worked up about the human error while mending the slides but if you were so freakin' critical about it, work your ARSE to the back of the church and see if you could do a better job. I bet god didn't give you a MOUTH only. Freakin' it's christmas!!! Celebrate Jesus's coming. It's not anyone's fault that you don't know the lyrics. Bring your own next time or something. BRAINS people BRAINS. Save those stares and mutters for your ownselves. Look in the mirrior or something... sheesh... You think lyrics on the projector will please God?

I practically slept the entire afternoon after church. Very lazy sunday i admit. I went through the day with a rotten attitude. Couldn't careless about any and everything. heh.

Mah Trip to Bukit Tinggi...

Just came back from KL like two hours ago. Spent 5 days and 4 nights on the mountains in a place called Bukit Tinggi. Somewhere near Gentings but a little further down. We only checked-in at night at approx. nine plus. Spent the first two nights in a service apartment with fully provided cooking facilities and murky water running out of every visible tap available to the human eye. Murk comparable to that of diluted coffee.

I played Golf with my dad they following morning and it was an interesting game. With golf sticks and a buggy, my dad and I began smacking balls all over the fairway (it was more frequent for me though) like nobody's business. After the first nine, fatigue overwhelmed myself and i wanted to retire desperately but before i could, my rubber spiked shoe did. It was horrible i tell you. The sole literally gave way and on top of that, the course was super soggy making a large entry point for mud and mud bacteria. Nevertheless, i enjoyed the buggy ride. I was driving my dad around most of the time but it (buggy) was rather cranky. So much sweat and effort was required off me to DRIVE both the ball and the buggy. One was flying left, right and all over while the other needed desperate oiling of the steering axel. The weather was awesome though. Clouds covering the mountains like ice-kacang and it was neither too sunny nor was it too rainy. Perfect weather for a game of golf.

Horse riding was the activity for day two. First, before i could even exercise the my right to touch any horse, i had to fill an idemity form and scribble John Hancock the bottom. After that i gladly mounted my horse and rode with my sis and dad around a makeshift route. We were lead by a half argentinian half french chap. My impression of him wasn't good to an extend that i would gladly shove a horse whipp up his arse and wiggle it alittle so that he feels excruciating sensations. Anyway, my horse was sweet though i didn't take conscious note of his name (it's a him i could tell from an external pertruding feature). I was impressed that a horse that size (not fully grown) could lift my weight and i'm pretty certain is suffered a backache. Talking about aches, aww man, the two hour ride induced a barely barable ache unto my groin area especially when it began galloping. I had to stand on both feet on certain occations. I was just horribly glad i survived. By the way, see that dog there =) she's Kyle... Kyle Monogue. Awful labels owners these days give to pets of theirs. At least hoogie (my dog) sounds more digestable.

Food. Fish was like a must throughout the trip during lunch. If it wasn't a chinese lunch with fish then it would be a japanese meal with fish ( i had cod fish =) ). We had so much river fish and i think i'll need to start drafting my diet plans for the next 6 months. My mom claims my neck is thickening *depressed* Fine, i'll start drinking water for breakfast, lunch and dinner. HOW'S THAT???... Astonishing i tell you the food. Gosh, i'm feeling hungry now talking about food.

28th - 29th November 2005

Island life! Love it!... Just returned recently from my ever first Chalet, in Sentosa. The room (singular) we rented for nett $127 could easily contain the 20++ of us (minus furniture) who were there for the sleepover. As i would, i wandered the beaches, checking things out and eventually hired a two-wheeler to aid the arduous task of me having to walk. For 5 moolas per hour we, a friend and i, explored renovation sites, abondened WWII buildings, white elephant villas and greenery... The best of what it had to offer... I had fun nevertheless, cracking cold and lame jokes and whining about every flawfull sights and experiences.

Then came evening. The supposed highlight of every group scale sleepover non-other than the dinner. Barbequeue is the cheemest term humas can come up with when heating cooked and uncooked animal meat over a metal grill. Our cook was great i admit it, food was so good it ran out faster than i could imagine. With elongated toothpicks and a metal thong, magic was whipped up within minutes and gone within seconds. Godlike i dare say, almost like feeding the thousands with a loaf of bread topped with vegemite. I wasn't feeling right during the ten course meal, apparently i grew an allergy for the incomplete combustion and minute carbon particles that gracefully tickled my nasal cavity. So i went down to the beach for a little stroll to, again, check things out.

By the time i returned, a staff (i shall not mention names for the democratic system in the smallest and prosperous country in the world prohibits me to) from my PREVIOUS SCHOOL, i'm glad to say, arrived. We had a hearty chat about futurestic stuff, snapped some photos for rememberance purposes. Then a breakthrough suggestion came from one of the girls. A suggestion to watch a MuSiCaL fOuNtAiN show live in action!!!. Yup, i was game and left with 4 other girls plus the teacher. Took a shuttle bus and strolled through the crowded pathway along artificial fountains with energy efficient lights glimmering through the purposefully unlit pavements until we finally reached the MuSiCaL fOuNtAiN. Seen it before but didn't mind a second glance. Facinating water sprays and laser dos finished with fireballs through the dark night sky. OOh AAh!!! everybody went, while i sat there playing a game on my mobile phone (i manage to advance to the second level after a year of try hard luck =D *grin*). *clap-clap*.

After seeing my teacher off, there were 5 of us left. 4 gals and a guy to be specific. They were seemingly keen on doing a night trail with me as a guide. Armed with my iron biceps i gladly refused, at first. But then i thought of the facinating chills i could send down their spine through the pitch dark and devirginified forest. So we started walking through never used before routes majority of which were brightly lit with lamp posts. I suggested the abondened WWII building and after crawling through much of the forest floor, we arrived there. Dark and spooky but i knew i needn't be afraid for i wore sandles tightly secured round my ankles. Should there be a cry for help by one or EVEN non of us, i'm sure my trusty sandles will serve me well. I had fun scaring and telling them about the importance of walking in a straight line instead of a row cos' the probability of the people at the sides getting touched by something unknown is higher or why when walking in a row, it's bad being the last cos' if something happens to you the peeps infront won't know and stuff like that. Oh yeah, it's great being the guide =). Upon returning, we popped in at 7-11 along the beach after walking barefoot on the beach with soothing and cooling sand carassing the thick cornified layer of the under sole. So relaxing.

I was pretty much jaded by the time i returned to the chalet. A few of us watched Chucky 4 and it was very much a sick show. I couldn't stand it no more so i slept till morning...

Woke up, groggy as ever and the climate in the room was friggin' cold. Gladly, i wore my AdIdAs windbreaker and made my way down to the reception area for a good morning movie called "Channel News Asia" and headlines were "Chain's Benzene spill felt in artic areas". So much for a good start to a morning. Anyway, the windbreaker i wore started to implement it's purposeful effect on my body temperature. On top of that, i had to breakwind (it's a morning thing) against the morning breeze. I had my silencer on so it wasn't much of a disturbance to the sloppy wakers. The room i slept in earlier was soon crowded. I skipped breakfast and only gulped a can of soda (which had enough enegry content to last me the whole afternoon) and made my way down to the beach with a few others for a session of rollerblading. Tedious i tell you. The aches and pains endured my my high arched feet wasn't a glamourous feel. I'm not sure how the others felt but i'm certain their experience was on par to mine =). Bladed till noon and by that time, we had to say bye bye sentosa and head for mainland. We shuttled ourselves out and slept through a one hour bus ride journey back to woodlands. So much fun i tell you. Pretty much darn exhausted after it.

The Hymn of Promise that touched me...

In the bulb there is a flower; in a seed, an apple tree;
in cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter there's a spring that waits to be,
unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

There's a song in every silence, seeking word and melody;
there's a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me.
From the past will come a future; what it holds, a mystery,
unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our begining; in our time, infinity;
in our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity.
In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory,
unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

JC tour...

I woke up super "early" today. At about 0750hrs and i was left with only 20 minutes to get ready and make my way down to the customs to meet a couple of friends before heading in to Singapore. yah lah... Though i reach the customs late, surprisingly, i was the first to arrive. Sigh, youngsters these days have a thing about punctuality. Me inculded... Rendezvou with more classmates in S'pore before heading for AJC, the nearest.

Well, all in all, it wasn't a very happening school i can tell. Science students who were presenting their projects and laboratories seemed super studious about everything they were doing. Maybe it's just a few... Then we checked out their CCA booths. Photography club, Chinese Dance, Debate society, frist aid club, Chess club and many more. Their Choir was good though. They were like - anyone and everyone 20m in radius from where they were performing would have stopped and listened, that kind. Yah, pretty good... Their library is large. Wide range of books to choose from i must say though the only drawback is that their building is pretty aged... Youth flying club was there promoting their booth as well. I'm certain i suited all their entry requirements except for the "Singapore Citizen" criteria... oh well... We were about to leave and there was this "rock" kinda band playing noise near the concourse. It was pure pollution i tell you. Frequencies beyond that of the threshold of human hearing... I was just glad to leave.

Arrived in NJC and hour behind schedule. So we decided to give SAJC a pass since it was further south of the island. Anyway, we entered the "NJC walk" and were greeted with goodie bags. Prettie interesting method of moving around NJ. We had to follow a layed out map that was given and had to visit various stations in order to collect and complete the full goodie bag... Canoers came up to me and another friend to ask if we were in any way interested in Kayaking or Canoeing and if so, kindly fill up a contact form. Yah, you can say i have a passion for aquatic sports and am deprive of opportunities. Curiously i filled the form just for the fun of it... We headed for the Shooting stations. Oh yah, surely i shot rounds at little targeting cards. I played both air rifle and gun. Really cool. I figured we had spent at least an hour at that station considering the fact that we moved in a group taking turns to shoot... Yeeps, their campus is huge and it's nice to know they have their own "radio station" over the PA system... By the time we explored it's entire area, we were 'fatiguified' mentally...

Honestly, i'm not being biased here. I entered the premises of these two JC's with equal expectations. The above mentioned are simply my first impressions for today...

Went to pastamania in junction 8 for lunch and filled ourselves with cheese... Then headed home. I just waiting for ACJC's next week... ha...

Twenty five days

Oh yes. It's gonna be another 25 days to the start of the theory papers. I'm looking at my calendar now and it measures exactly ten centimeters from today to the 7th of November. This will be only the SECOND national exam i'll be sitting for. Then it struck me, i still have a long away to go before i'm fit to wear the black robe and funny looking hat with a tail like thinge off it's corner. Anyways, my time table had already been scribbled out unto the wall calender many weeks back. All i need to do now is to faithfully maintain that pace and abide by it. Practicals start next week. Tuesday (18th Oct), to be exact, will be Biology. Following tuesday (25th Oct) will be Chemistry and Physics will be on Thursday (27th Oct). It's usually early so that we have more time to ourselves.

JC open houses are this coming saturday. I'll be moving around with a few other classmates. I figure we'll do AJC, NJC(not that i wanna go there) and SAJC this week and probably ACJC, HCJC (not that i wanna go there) and some others the following week. I'll be on the look out for the "most happening" JC's. Heehee.

Graduation ceremony. Happening next friday. I'm not sure how emotional it will be but i'm certain nothing will squeeze a tear from my glands =D. Yeeps, we'll be recieving our testimonial, CCA grades and report and some other thingamajigs. Got A2 for CCA. haha.

Righty then, i'll try updating you again. I'm hungry now.

The Finnish encounter

At the bus stop, already behind schedule, there i stood waiting with impatience for the bus. Four passed by but none would bring me to my destination. Dwelling in silence, I felt as if being mocked by the passing buses. My impatience intensified and i thought to myself "Shit! I'm gonna miss Miss Jane's see-off farewell". Then came an european couple. They were backpack travellers made obvious by their load hoisted unto their backs which accustomed a Camel. Two in this case. Looking sloppy yet decent, they eyed the bus number board with great intent. I guess they knew, somehow, that a 30 by 20 centimeter alloyed board coated with paint resembling lines and numbers raised up on a pole wouldn't be much help unless, ofcourse, they ask for directions. I'm sure it was either our comparable dressing or my flawless facial contours that intrigued them to me.

"Scuss mee, doue you know whicch bus goes to little india?" The female started.

"Oh erm, there's no direct bus route leading to little india from here." I answered.

"Oh... HuuuH? was their reply.

" You can take a bus from here to the MRT station and go to little india from there. You know ther train? (accompanied by hand actions moving from left to right at chest level)"

"Oh the train, hoow too get theree?" came the female.

"You can board this bus or mabye, why not you follow me and i'll lead you there cos i'm heading towards there myself?"

"Oh okay, thank you"

So we boarded the bus, sat down with each of them occupying two seats cos' of the load on their backs and we conversed. They're actually from Finland, though i have no idea where that is on the map but i know it exists which is a good thing, and it's their first visit to Singapore. heehee. So I had the privilage of welcoming them to Singapore inspite of being Malaysian. Anyway, i found out later that they came from Cambodia to Thailand to Malaysia and now Singapore where they'll be spending two days visiting what little it has. heh.

We reached the MRT station and they desperately needed tickets, so i directed them to the ticketing counters and instructed them verbally and PhYsIcAlLy with hand points and signals (cos' i knew "standard British english" wasn't gonna help much). Then it came to inserting money into the machine. *drops dead* They were loaded i tell you. There were at least 10 fifty dollar notes and 20 ten dollar notes neatly folded into the clasping right hand of the male. They were so loaded that the machines didn't accept their notes cos' the largest bill it'll accepts is a 5. Which i had =D. I paid for their trip and they offered a 10 in return but i said "Since this is your first trip to Singapore, this will be my treat" (There was this old guy begging them for money and he wasn't poorly dressed. What a jerk i tell you! stalking innocent tourists. Naturally i told him off =D my forte. Sorry la, i just find rich beggars irritating. First visit and in Singapore somemore...)... Anyway, the couple kept insisting but i resisted. heehee.

So i showed them around the platform and taught them what they needed to know to get to places they wanted. They were interested in visiting the zoo in the morning... and i was like "Uh huh... The ice-cream there is good" and they were like "Ice cream good?"... (it's not like i'll visit sentosa for some cooped up in the cage on a overpopulated island animal show) sheesh, way-to-go!! just don't die of boredom... okay nevermind there. Yup, so we alighted at an interchange cos' they had to transfer. There, i saw them off and shook their hands. They were a nice and cute couple =D chubby like me. heehee. Thereafter, i headed off to changi for Miss Jane's farewell...

Men's best friend and Nature's worst nightmare

I like talking about my dog Hoogie. He's cute, adorable, Dog handsome, cute, adorable (heh) and destructive to nature by nature. His primary weapon, his super concentrated acidic urine that probably malfunctions any pH indicators available in the market. Only nature can decipher his super acidic presence. "DeGRASSation" is nature's indication. This is Hoogie's daily routine, he hibernates, walks about the house, licks himself, sheds dandruff, eats "lamb and rice" combination dog food, drinks his liquids from a container after which he salivates like mad, conducts daily egestion in the BeAuTiFuL garden which includes the release of super concentrated acidic yellow solution from an organ only available to male mammals. Right now, there are blotches of desertification evident in the garden (as you can see on the picture above. Looks like the australian continent). Talk about urea being a good fertilizer.

We replanted our grass not too long ago because weeds were dominating much of the land. Not only was it unsightly but murderous to cut as well. Now we're having some "pearly cow grass" or something like that i'm not too sure of the species but it looks admirable. Except for the super acidic urine hit areas. It's a natural disaster i tell you.

The attack of the Milli-Organisms

Yeah, that's my Bull Mastiff Hoogie. Named after an olympic swimmer my sister had an infatuation for. (something something Hooganban, along those lines). He's pretty much NoCtUrNaL and spends the afternoons hibernating infront of the gate. So much for a guard dog. Dogs are great pets i must admit, but this pet of mine keeps his own variety of pets. On himself that is. Hoogie told me telepathically that he personally named them TICKS. It's good to know he's found his very own friends, but however, hoogie hasn't been a very entertaining host. As a result, TICK corpulation rates increase and *WaLa* you get new TICK generations. Geography teaches us that due to the lack of education and entertainment in developing countries, much of the adult population turn to methods of "increasing population growth" (indirectly meaning carnal connection) as a means of entertainment. Same thing applies to this Bull Mastiff of mine. haha. Anyway these blood suckers, once belly full, will simply drop off the dog and climb up the nearest wall within it's area. Seemingly, that drives us humans up the same wall. Squashing TICKS is a fun thing to do, but my preference would be to heat them up to temperatures exceeding 200 degrees celsius with a matchstick. Cool thing to do really. The excitement would be greater if they actually do "PoP" upon heating, AwEsOmE! imagine the bloodshed =D. Alright, i'm freaking you out. TICKS have been part of our family since the early years of our first pet dog "New Year". Yeeps. Guess what, i just chanced into an AlBiNo TICK, nice and white. I'm gonna heat it up now so i'll end here. Should i use the Microwave oven this time? i'll see...

The day after i fell ill...

School yesterday was totally awesome. My partner and I laughed so much he had a stomach ache and I suffered a splittin' headache. After about and hour or so, my immune system gave in to some nasty virus that practically weakened my entire organism, but still the jokes kept coming. Moments after reaching home, i collapsed unto my precious bed and immediately enguaged basal metabolism. When i awoke, my brain pressure fluctuated and every part of me felt like Sh*T. Dad took my blood pressure a couple of times and got overly excited about my pulse rate doubling. I don't blame him.

Anyway, i'm here now infront of the screen feeling much better although my lymph nodes are a little swollen. It's amazing how it works. It actually filters bacteria and foreign particles from the body and when the organism is infected, it will swell and activate lymphocytes (one form of white blood cells. The other is Phagocytes. It's all Biology). I have consulted my General Practitioner and he gave a GeNeRaL diagnosis saying "It's nothing serious" (They always do, just to play safe, unless it involves pain at strategic spots on the body). I'm on recommended drugs now so i should survive, but if not, my last will and testament, which I haven't seen for two years, is in the drawer somewhere in the premises of my room. The first line says "You should only attempt to read this after i die..." Nevermind there.

Something for all students =)...

A Students' Prayer

Lord grant me a quiet heart
before exams begin
Lead me to use my leisure hours
To invigorate my power
My mind from daydreams liberate
Give me the will to concentrate
From all distractions set me free
That in my studies i may be
A student with a sole fulfillment
To make my work a sacrament

From my faint heart in love expel
All failures fears that there in dwell
And from my pillow drives away
All darkness foreboding of the day
Help me in faith to rest so deep
That i may have untroubled sleep
While notes and lectures i prepare
May i not lose my zeal in prayers

And may i not forget to look
For guidance in thy book
And may i ever greatful be
To all who daily pray for me
While for myself i intercede
For other students too i plead
So may exams find
Each one alert in heart and mind
Thus inward joy and peace processing
May exams prove a source of blessing

In God's love and mine,

Exam review.

Alright, now its my chance to procrastinate before the major exam. And since i have the time, i'll do a little review. I'll begin chronologically. English paper wasn't as bad as before and if you ask me, i think i'll clear with reasonable results. I hate the fact that i am required to conjure a story line in half an hour and write something in the order of "creating a character, giving the character an issue and solving the character's issue on his behalf". I'm talking about writing a narrative. My ideas are down to earth (the last time i checked) and it hardly runs wild and i loathe thinking on my feet. I'm better at argumentative but school discourages us from trying it. Not that they disallow it. Functional writing was simpler, a Tsunami newspaper report... sheesh right... Humanities was next, nothing interesting except that i was pressing for time to complete social studies. I guess i spent more time doing structured essays that i did with source-base i was rewarded with muscle cramps thereafter. Geography wasn't hard, there were only questions i never anticipated. There was one with regards to a section in the book which i never ever laid eyes on, that cost me eight marks... sigh... Nothing to say about Add math except that i hate trigonometry. Left those questions blank and drew smily faces instead. Elementary math was a breeze except for paper one which was pretty challenging =)... Chemistry was good but i made a silly mistake. Physics was too easy and wasn't even 'O' level standard. Biology was interesting, My classmate sitting next to me was used as an experiment in one particular question... heh, it was hilarious. I was giggling at my seat and the invigilators couldn't figure out why... yeeps, i dare say it was quite an experience having the examinations in the hall. It gives the graduating classes a taste of 'O' levels.

Liberated at last... For the time being that is...

Pre-exam symptoms (phase one; relatively mild):
a. major psychological enthusiasm
b. buoyant
c. and absorbed
Exam symptoms (phase two; severe):
a. extreme organismal fatigue
b. muscular cramps
(mainly over the master-hand region)
c. and distorted calligraphy
(rapid scribbling)
Post-exam symptoms (phase three; outbreak)
a. Anti-books tension arises
b. formation of 'parental nag' resistant layer on skin
(thick cornified layer / rapid division epidermal cells)
c. excessive expenditure of weekly income
(especially on ADIDAS wear)

Right, mid-years are coming close to an end. Just one more paper and i'm embarking on my self-proclaimed holiday. heh.

Outward Bound Singapore. 21st to 25th Feb 05.

My initial impression of OBS was more of a military style camp. Until i set foot on Pulau Ubin. All in all, there were roughly Three Hundred participants that had to be transported by taxi boats from mainland to Ubin. Upon reaching OBS camp II, everyone was separated into their "watches" (nautical terms for groups). Amazingly, it was not too much for the instructors to handle. There were twenty odd of them and through estimated division, it was fifteen to a group facilitated by one instructor. My particular watch was named Marco Polo who discovered the Silk road, but that was history the last time i checked=). To be honest. I'm very certain that until today, i haven't mastered every of my watch member's name... *smacks my head*... I guess it's so much simpler addressing the whole wide world with "OI", not to mention it's widely used. I'm certain it carries with it benefits like:
1) Energy saving
2) Oxygen sparing and
3) Reduces noise pollution
heh... nevermind there. OBS was great nevertheless but i shall refrain from going into details. bah.
